The possibilities to play around with Google Search are endless and same goes with the nifty tips that will help you immensely in precisely getting what you want. Here are some of the tricks done just for fun...

Also check-out this Google hacking master list.

1) Make the search images dance:

Here is the code that you can copy paste in your address bar:

javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200;DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style;DIS.position=’absolute’; DIS.left=Math.sin (R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5;DIS.top=Math.cos(R* y1+i*y2+y3 )*y4+y5}R++}setInterval(’A()’,5); void(0);

NOTE: This hack was noticed a long way back. I tried the same thing, but didn’t get the exact results. Although, it still works somehow. Try it yourself.

2) Change the Google logo:

3) Make Google go backwards:

4) Make Google’s OO’s disappear:

To do this trick, go to darkartmedia and click anywhere on the webpage to make the OO’s disappear within 5seconds. Then click again to make them reappear. Clicking the third time will swiftly take you to the original Google Search page, and therefore you can show that it was all done on the Google search webpage.

5) Websites that show Google Search Knock-down:

These are couple of websites that demonstrate a Google breakdown, tumbling to the bottom in a very dramatic way.

Here are the links to these two websites: googledemolition and googleaxis

# Other tips worth trying

• Find only images containing faces in a Google Image search result by adding ‘&imgtype=face‘ to the end of the search URL:

• To find out how a long number would be written in Roman numerals, just type-in the number followed by “in roman numerals”.

• Google stores the content of old sites. You can search this cache direct with the syntax keyword cache:site_url

• Search for any filetype directly using the modifier filetype:[filetype extension]. For example: cricket filetype:pdf

• Google can fill in a blank also. Try: Christopher Columbus discovered *

• The + operator comes in very handy if you want to make sure that the stop words are included in the search query. For example, if you type arduino + micro-controller, the search results will have both these keywords included.

• Search for a specific term, then one keyword OR another by grouping them with parentheses, like this: water (smoke OR fire)
